The head of the Long Island Power Authority says he will kill the plan to build a windmill farm off the coast of Jones Beach, because the project has gotten too expensive. LIPA Chairman Kevin Law Wednesday says the cost for the 40 wind turbines has ballooned to $700 millonwhich is more than traditional forms of energy generation or even a new energy-efficient plant.
